For weddings, EJ Celebrants will create a bespoke, meaningful ceremony that isn't religious. We do not have to follow templates or 'tick boxes' meaning couples will have complete creative freedom to make their day how they want it to be.

Same sex marriages have been celebrated in England & Wales since March 2014, Scotland since December 2014 and Northern Ireland since February 2020. As of 2023 marriages between same sex couples is legally performed and recognised in 34 countries and as of January 2024 Estonia will also recognise same sex marriages .

A Unity Candle Ceremony is when a couple each take a lit candle and simultaneously light what is know as a "Unity Candle". This symbolises their joining together as a family, while maintaining their indivduality. 

The sand ceremony is a wedding tradition which sees the couple take sand from different containers and pour them into a unified vessel. It represents the joining of two individuals in marriage and symbolises the newlyweds hopes, dreams and aspirations. Its a keepsake from their special day. Couples often choose sand from a place which has a significant meaning to them.

Handfasting is a symbolic act that takes place during a wedding ceremony, where the hands of the happy couple are bound together with ribbon or cord, to represent their commitment to each other. Their hands are wrapped together in an expression of their love, with words, poetry or music accompaning the ritual.

A Ring Warming Ceremony is a tradition that involves passing round the wedding bands to guests. Upon recieving the rings, the guest "warm" them up with a prayer, good wishes, & positive vibes for the couples future together.
